Our Story

In 1999, McGregor & Company, LLP merged with an established accounting practice that had been serving the Barnwell area since 1971. With the area’s heavy agricultural influence, our Barnwell location specializes in small business taxes for industries such as farming, reforestation, and craftsmanship. This expertise allows us to represent businesses all over the state of South Carolina, from the Low Country to the Upstate.

H. Del Brown, Jr., CPA

Partner-in-Charge

Del has been a member of the McGregor & Company, LLP family since 1990, first beginning as a staff accountant and then being admitted as a Partner in 2001. Originally a member of our Orangeburg office, Del began working between our Orangeburg and Barnwell offices in 1999 before becoming the Partner-in-Charge of the Barnwell office in 2002. He works in many facets of the business, including audit & assurance, review, compilation, tax services, and consulting, specializing in Audit and tax. He also has extensive experience performing audits on governmental and non-profit entities and offering tax services for agricultural and forest products. When he's not in the office, Del loves spending time with his family and outdoors in activities such as fishing, hunting, and cooking at tailgating events at Clemson.

James "Jim" McGuire, CPA

Partner

Jim originally worked with the accounting firm in Barnwell, SC, that merged with McGregor & Company, LLP in 1999 and was admitted as a partner in 2007. As a part of our team, he specializes in Audit & Assurance, review, compilation, tax services, and consulting, focusing on audit and tax. He has extensive experience in auditing school districts and other governmental and non-profit entities. Outside the office, Jim enjoys baseball history and bowling.

H. O'Neal Crider, Jr., CPA

Partner

Neal began his accounting career as a staff accountant at McGregor & Company, LLP in 2005 and has since been admitted as a Partner in the firm. He lends his expertise to governmental entities in the areas of financial consulting and auditing. Neal also enjoys performing tax planning and preparation services for individuals and closely held businesses. He possesses a wealth of experience in other facets of the business, which include performing reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures, and financial statement preparations for various entities. Outside of the office, Neal loves being with his family, finding time outdoors to hunt and polish his golf game, and attending sporting events.
